Skatespots from a nonskaters point of view

Åva, Täby

Skatespots Sweden Posted on Thu, August 01, 2013 10:31:33

Åva skatepark is a bit way out but it looks pretty nice.
It is big enough to have something for everyone still not too big.
The setting is not particularly nice. On one side you have the commuter train and the other way is some kind of industrial area. Though you could get some shopping done.
The Täby mall welcomes you in both Swedish and English.
Kind of different feel to this mall,hm.
A new residential area is under construction.

Guess it will be very nice.
But running is not enjoyable here. You have to run in suburbia, with a “cul-de-sac” feel.

Microramp part threee

Now the sawing is done. Time for planks and screws.

We continue by assembling the sides. This looks good.

And more planks and screws. Looking even better.

Now we are getting close. Some water and jumping and then the bend is done.

This looks pretty good. Small, tight and hard to skate.

One day and some hard work.

Microramp part two

Today the ramp will be built. It is a oneday build ramp.

Lots of sawing. Like a jigsaw.

Little by little it is becomming a ramp, microstyle.

Building your own microramp

DIYs Posted on Thu, July 04, 2013 12:22:07

Sunny lazy days by the sea is not always enough.

The lawn is mowed by a robot so there is time for other stuff. Moving stones to make room for a pool, concrete. Painting the new cottage, built by us. The cottage looks great and building it was much more enjoyable and fun than we expected!

But still a bit desperate for our own skatespot!

So this is what we got ourselves from Kim´s lumberyard.

Three 100*2000 mm sheets of plywood.

Enough for day one. BBQ and beer awaits!

Nacka Skatepark

The location of Nacka Skatepark is boring to say the least. Beside a huge highschool outside Stockolm surrounded by big motorways and very little residenteal area.

The bowl and the streetarea is pretty cool.

There are some pros to the surroundings though. An indoor mall within walking distance and the park is actually part of a sports facility.

A football pitch with a running track, much appreciated when not used by footballers. Indoor swimmingpool and a small forest.

And when the park is empty, early mornings or offseason, the cruiser can have a ride.

Kristineberg skatepark in Stockholm is my favorite at the moment. It is not so crowded and the setting is perfect. Either you bring your jogging gear an run beside the beautiful Karlberg´s canal. Perfect för 5 km run.

Bowl area is looking great.

If you rather just want to have a beer there is plenty. The neighborhood is newly built and not quite fully developed jet. It is built for the young and smart but it is OK to hangout .Enjoy the view and new cool houses. I love those balconies! And the beachwalk is great.
